Walking along the promenade, watching the kids bike ahead of us, I had expected hotter weather, but this was what unfolded. Quite nice and misty really; a hint of a chill yet never delivered, we hung out here for half the day having a light snack at the Scarborough Fare, letting the kids swim in the kiddie pool and play at the playground, hanging with the in-laws all the while...

They are planning a small getaway to Wellington for a few days and then they are back for another week. Wow, we will get our house all to ourselves for a little bit. How liberating :)
