Leo hatched a football!
This week continues to keep on giving. It has been all go again.
It was Leo's Sports Day and he came second in his race and his Red House Team (Ash) won the overall Sports Day Competition. And he got a very early finish as they decided it was too hot for a full day outside - so went with a very cut down version.
His ball and the hot weather clearly did not mix and began bulging and then protruding at the seams! We decided to 'peel' it in case it exploded.
The garage we dumped the car at kindly had a look at it today even though we had no appointment. It is still with them but they think it may be a starting motor issue rather than the alternator - which is better, apparently!
We always joke that my birthday is cursed as something unexpected usually happens. One year, Dad fell off a ladder and we ended up at the hospital for most of the day - his shoulder hasn't been right since!
I thought we'd escaped the curse as the car drama was yesterday. And I had a nice day at work, with good news from a meeting that will help us crack on with some major work over the summer, plus lots of lovely cards and pressies from my super workmates.
But then what should happen? Once we got home I popped upstairs to change my shoes when Ian called up to say the weekly shop had arrived. I endeavoured to go and help but found myself locked in the bedroom as the door handle decided to disintegrate. Imprisoned on my birthday - what a cheek! Especially as all the food was on the other side! Ian had to remove the entire handle fitting to get me loose. I was envisaging having to make my way out of the window at one point. Now that would have been asking for trouble!
But at least I have caught up with all your Blip adventures now.
Surely the rest of the week will be more peaceful...
