Red Admiral

Len has caught the nature bug. Since I took up photography seriously, I've learned a lot more about the natural world.

So when Len spotted this Red Admiral butterfly on the filthy window in the utility room, he summoned me immediately with camera to take a photo, knowing how keen I am to get 'nature shots.'

Close inspection reveals that this insect has been around for a bit as he, or she, has a tear in his/her wing.

Temperatures were reasonable today. Basil and I went to see the poppies on Tickow Lane for one last time as they are all but over, but still give the fields a red glow.

Then we popped in at Joy's for tea and ice cream.
