Enjoying the sun!
Today was a pre-walk for Day One of the Walking Festival. Four of us set off to walk from Haltwhistle to Banks, reputed to be 12 miles but which was 13 in reality. The clouds were initially high and moving fast; the views in all directions were splendid. We scrambled to put on waterproofs at one point, but the rain stopped after 30 mins which was great.
There were a lot of walkers out today and we chatted to quite a number who are tackling the whole of the Hadrian's Wall Trail. Here is one of a group of 3 young women who had stopped for tea and cakes at Birdoswald Roman Fort. It was sunny and sheltered in the courtyard so here is one making the most of the sun.
Photo club was a presentation of nature photos by 2 of our members - stunning work and I do admire their patience.
