Up The Junction
This is the River Teviot in Kelso at its junction with the River Tweed, hence the fishing beat called The Junction Pool. TJ and M and friend T (who is in the water) fished here this afternoon, but didn't catch anything. Weather very hot and bright, so poor conditions for fishing (at least that was their excuse!)
However, M caught a salmon yesterday and TJ a lovely sea trout the day before, so they are going home happy:-)
R and I took the salmon to the Teviot Smokery to be smoked and sliced and dispatched to M and R when it's ready. TJ will take his sea trout to Dunkeld to have the same done.
Later, we sat by the river for a while and chatted to the ghillie, who had a wealth of stories about his famous visitors. He really loves his job:-). Later still we visited an Antiques Fair nearby and managed to buy a few bits (how did that happen?)
Off for a meal out tonight at Cobbles in Kelso, where we also ate last night. It was so good we all wanted to return:-)
Home tomorrow and looks like it might be raining, but we have had such a lovely day today that we really don't mind!
