Emergency
The plan for today had been to go and water the garden at the cottage at about 10am after the guests had left for the beach and then host the official opening of the exhibition at 1pm having spent a moment or two cleaning up the natural feature which inspired the story in the first place.
However, little Mo, the tabby cat who has recently been on antibiotics for a nasty cough suddenly took a dramatic turn for the worse and was panting furiously. I feared he had fluid in his lungs and was drowning so a dramatic high-speed drive over the mountain to avoid beach traffic and straight to the vets where Niki & Dimitri greeted us with grave concern.
An X-ray showed a significant mass pressing on both heart and lungs. A blood test suggested that it is not a cancerous growth and so an attempt to fix him with steroids will be attempted, surgery is deemed too difficult. If the steroids don't work then euthanasia is the kindest route.
This little fella joined our family uninvited. He just made his presence known and showed such determination to be part of our family he won our hearts. To lose him so soon will bring such heartbreak.
The exhibition was opened without great fanfare and I am still quietly trying to hunt down publishers
These are not Government employed municipal workers, sadly Greece can afford only a handful of those and if I get the chance to photograph Eva the coastguard in her uniform then I shall delete this tag, but for the moment, these are my uniformed heroes.
