This is Lisa
We were room-mates on the Jordanian border when I was 19. She hasn't changed one little bit! She's still a wee bit older, a great deal shorter and a fair bit wiser than me.
Back then she was from Bakersfield but now she is from Western Australia and she is on a quick visit to the Northern hemisphere so it was great to hook up. Back then we had radio and the BBC World Service and it was through that medium that we learned about the British Special Forces successful raid on the Iranian Embassy in London, the American Special Forces botched raid on their own Embassy in Tehran and the utterly brilliant Wimbledon Men's Singles final between Borg and McEnroe. We were lucky enough to have with us Barry from Minnesota and Steve from Sydney who were happy to act out the match over a washing line strung between two palm trees as the live radio commentary went on. And on. And on.
So Lisa and I met up and reminisced and caught up with each other's lives and then we went and stood on Golden Jubilee Bridge and got goosebumps together as we watched the RAF flypast in its entirety.
