My first Sea Horse
Yes, this is the very first time that i've seen a Sea Horse while diving and I saw a total of 3 in just one dive! Two of them were white and this was was mustard yellow. It's hard to explain the excitement and joy I felt as these little creatures are difficult to spot! I only wish I was using my DSLR but beggars can't be choosers! Lol.
I went diving with friends today and we were lucky to have had 3 amazing dives. The highlight for me though was spotting a hawksbill sea turtle feasting on a coral during our second dive. This turtle was massive, about a meter and a half, and we spent a good 15 mins watching it ferociously attack and eat a coral. It looked really hungry and ignored us the whole time we were there despite a couple of camera flashes going off right in front of his face every 5 secs! I would have kept him company longer if I had more air but we were already pushing our dive time limit so I had to say goodbye. I love turtles, there's something about seeing them that makes me happy. I once swam with a turtle during a trip to Tubbataha Reef for a good 10 mins and only stopped because I eventually got tired and couldn't keep up! Love love love Sea Turtles! The second highlight is of course seeing these lovely little Sea Horses. This yellow one wasn't so tiny though, we estimated it to be about 7 inches long while the other two where half its size. I wish I could go back tomorrow with a better camera so you can see how truly beautiful it is! Dang these underwater camera housings, they're just too expensive!!! Guess i'll have to put that down on my list of things to buy when I recover from my holiday spending spree! Dang but I want one now for my cam! Lol!
Anyway, it was surely a loooooong and fun-filled day. My regular visits to Manila are never complete until i've gone on a dive in Anilao with my old dive mates. It feels like I can breathe easy again. I just hope the next trip won't be too far off in the future! :)
