Day 60 - Getting there
The snow avalanche grating, the final roof tiles and the guttering was all done today. Christof, or perhaps Christoph, a new member of the team joined us today to do the guttering. Robert had to dash around to get some extra bits and pieces he had overseen that Christof needed. Another local lad who comes from a farming family but the major part has been sold off. They still have some bits and pieces they do and indeed Christof had to get home before dark so that he could mox some fields this evening and make hay in the coming days, the forecast being ideal.
Ideal as well for him that no rain coming so that we can check he used his spirit level on our guttering.
Stefan popped by to say hello, and bring the final invoice :-((, quite by coincidence as we were having a final end of day beer - traditional in these parts. Christof stayed on after they left as he wanted to finish everything he could. Just remains one downpipe which he will do when the scaffolding has been taken down. Had a nice chat with the very final beer or two and found out he is a old tractor freak. Not just a modern monster (I have forgotten what) but also lots of other old machines - his hobby.
Not for the final time but with an added spring in our feet, we set about clearing away the beer bottles and the days builders mess.
The extra photo: Health & Safety officials, this was taken after they had clocked off and was a private party!
