Have your cake and eat it...

Today's picture is what I was greeted with after stepping out of the shower this morning. Yes, for forgetting to turn my bedroom light of yesterday evening, my flatmate gave me some peruvian cake called bizcocho de piña (basically upside down pineapple cake if you're translating into English). This was not only strange as my forgetfulness and lack of consideration for the polar bears was rewarded with cake, but last year in 3f1 this wouldn't have happened...as a lightbulb would not normally be working long enough to need switching off anyway!

In other news, language classes have somewhat improved. I now know how to say Harry Potter characters in italian, have been educated in cult Spanish television with 'Aqui no hay quien viva' and learnt some spanish sayings (or refranes as they call them) such as:

"Tengo un cacao enorme" (aka "I am extremely confused")
"Más vale pájaro un mano que ciento volando ("Better to have one bird in hand than chase after 100 flying")
"Mucho ruido y pocas nueces" ("All shaft and no balls")

Other cool things have been the chance to spend some more time with some of the Mountainview folk, had a catch up with a friend while she was passing through town, spent more time hanging out with the language class folk and inventing the 'Superguay' club...and wine drinking with Holly and Nessa.

Right, better go and rescue the poor excuse of an omelette that has been slowly sticking itself to the frying pan for the last 10 or 15 minutes.

Ciao! (as a lot of people seem to say here) x
