Transience.

Arrived home a bit earlier tonight and went out for a walk before tea. Been a while since I've made it out in the hour before sunset. Walked all the way round the network without meeting a soul on my way. Closest I came to contact with another human being was a group of lads who I embarrassed by saying hello.

This one looks over the Strathmore valley, with the hay ready to be baled - and the rasps turning yellow. The path to the left is known locally as the Water Backie. Usually there's not much water in it in the summer - but I don't think that's been a problem this year.

There's a feeling of permanence in a landscape...
