The straight(?) and narrow

Today Jan (HarlingDarling) blipped our wedding photo from 33 years ago. We spent the day with old friends and their children walking in the beautiful Skule forest, which is both a national park and a nature reserve.
For the first time in 15 years we walked in from the south entrance and saw a lot of changes since we were last here. The car park was much bigger, and virtually full. The paths were often full of people too. Much of the path had been boarded to protect the forest floor. Here it isn't totally successful but in the wetter places the long grass and reeds grow right up to the boards. We walked up to Slåttdalsskrevan (blip by Miss R Able) and ate a lunch with a view nearby.
I thought this picture slightly metaphorical for the years Jan and I have spent together, the path is not always straight but it goes on, and is generally very lovely!
I'm not sure what the metaphorical meaning for the first extra is, a beautiful collection of roots twisting and turning like frozen snakes. The second extra shows our picnic spot and view at the high point of our walk.
