At last

I imagine everyone has jobs they put off and put off for various reasons. This was one of mine - I just didn't fancy rebuilding a wall at the top of a ladder balanced on the wall that had to rebuilt.
Communication between self and the "puter in the bucket of stones" was sorely tested with threatened walk-outs but in the end it was finished and like all those things you put off, when finished you wondered why you had procrastinated.
Off in the evening to dinner with an ex-Wellington colleague. Very civilized do and the menu had an English bent. Kedgeree perhaps tested the French but was good. Dutch, French, English and Hong Kong nationalities made for a multi-cultural evening. 
I do sometimes hate the Dutch -"Is English probably your best second language?" said I conversationally. "Well actually my German, Italian and Spanish are probably better." was the reply in perfect English with a smile.
