Unusual
Unusual to the point of unheard of ...............
I was able to sit and have my cup of tea and my toast without interuptions this morning.
No idea why ....... the monsters were up and about.
We took them to visit the mother-in-law this morning.
I took them to the local park after I had finished my cup of tea (2nd of the day).
Squirrel really hacked off her brother doing something he can't ......... Flicking her feet up, passing them under the bar and lowering herself down - slowly and in complete control .... even stopping and holding herself with back and arms at 90 degrees before dismounting.
Most impressive.
The Cygnet had a couple of mishaps - no, not when he jumped off the spring loaded seat. The first one was in the bucket when it just got faster and faster and eventually flipped him out. Luckily he came down on his front rather than the back of his head. His other one was when he went to drop through the 'monkey bars' and smacked his chin on one of the bars. I had visions of him biting through his tongue (as his mother did as a child) or smashing all his teeth. He will probably have a bruised chin tomorrow but that is it. He was lucky!
I collected some pattern shots today - the bark looking like ripples in water, leaf shadows looking like lace, gills looking like an explosion the way they radiated out and also almost looking good enough to eat .... but not quite. Of course the ever popular cow parsley (from a slightly different angle).
There was also an Osteospermum which got married up with some assorted seeds (which were collected as a teaching aid). It is a flower which looks really good against the black table.
We also went kite flying for an hour or so. The Cygnet can manage to fly his own one, but Squirrel needs help with hers .... it is bigger and there is no 'brake' that she can use on the cable drum. If she tried without help the kite would unwind the line - at high speed - and then be ripped out of her hand.
Hard work on my back, but good fun.
