A decent forecast; so we plotted a bike ride and BBQ.
A slow morning at home involving domesticity but we were out at midday (like Mad Dogs etc) and cycled up the path to Craigleith. A £9 hoodie for me from Nike and we carried onwards to Haymarket; around Fountainbridge and thru' the Meadows to SKELF.
T'were quiet - a bunch of 5 boys and couple of other stragglers so both boys got a clear run at going round with no pressure. And - an hour later, they were both lapping consistently with big grins! I think it became clear that it's super addictive and before I knew it I'd completed about 17 laps without a break; just going around and around.
I did a couple of laps of the trail too; not sure the Giant is as nimble and agile as the Cannondale but still clocked up the 7th best, so....
Come 3, we exited to the Meadows; she had finished her first day back and we fired up a portable BBQ and laid waste to a packet of sausages, some chicken breasts, strips of steak with jalpenos and garlic and lime, and some cajun pork slices too. A cheeky wee Chardonnay to wash it down too.
The boys slept, played football and then finally hit the play park before we grabbed some mini magnums and then headed home for around 9.
A long day; quick showers and before long they were fast asleep.
