Paestum

Not too long a trip today as it was scorching weather. Paestum is another Unesco site. It is the remains of an ancient Greek colony and was originally called Poseidonia until the Romans took control. The site is extraordinary with three large temples, a public swimming pool, a forum and part of an ampitheatre. The imagination runs riot in places like this trying to visualise how life here would have been like.
