Tuesday: Barber's on Davie

BC is currently experiencing its worst ever wildfires with approximately 45,000 people displaced in the interior. There was a distinct haze over the city as I drove in this morning which has now subsided but in the interior the fires continue.

In other news, a new provincial government was sworn in. It's a National Democratic (i.e. left) government with support from the Greens and has removed 16 years of BC Liberal (i.e. right) government. So definitely interesting times. A new government after 16 years of the same party is always going to shake things up a little.

K. and I met Jeffrey for a couple of drinks after work this evening. I met Jeffrey through work - he is an events coordinator with QMunity, an LGBTI organisation. He was also recently ordained as a deacon in the Anglican Church. We had some fascinating discussions including around being conflicted within the church as an LGBT person.
