Monte Carlo or Bust!

We caught the train to Monaco and arrived in Monte Carlo by 11am.  The train station comes out at Sainte-Dévote and we walked up the hill to the Casino, and were instantly met with a Ferrari, a McLaren 570S Spider and a Maserati, amongst Porches and Bentleys, which if you look closely, you can see parked up in front of the casino.

We had a really nice lunch at a restaurant nearby, had a look in the shopping mall where I bought some Macarons, and then went down to the port.  I actually managed to get Alan on a boat - not quite a yacht mind you, but a boat nevertheless.  Only in Monaco lol!

Once over the other side we walked up the hill to the old town, saw the Palace - not sure if Albert was home, but we watched his guard pacing up and down. And as we walked through the gardens we saw Swallowtail Butterfly.  I managed to get some close up shots and I've added one to my extras which I think is by far my best photo of the day, but I haven't used it as my blip as I wanted something that represents Monaco.

Then before we left we went to a sports bar where they had lots of F1 memorabilia which has been signed by the drivers, and there was even the shell of Mika Hakkinen's car, helmet and race suit.  It was a great find!

Home now and tonight we're going to head to the beach with a bottle of champagne.
