You know the seasons are changing and summer is passing when you have to resort to indoor blips again.
This is the entrance hall to Blair Drummond House. Although I have blipped different parts of it before I think this is the first time I've captured it in its full splendour.
At the top of the stairs is an oak clock original to the house (probably worthy of a close-up blip sometime in the future).
The frieze above the picture rail was painted by a Camphill artist and depicts daily life at Camphill Blair Drummond.
At the bottom of the stairs, out of shot on the left, there is a door set into the wood panelling, which leads to the servants quarters below stairs. It is through this door that the butler would have accessed the front door to admit visitors to the house. The original bell pull is still in situ on the outside of the door but has fortunately been disconnected and a modern door system installed otherwise I would be running up and downstairs all day instead having the luxury of opening the door from the comfort of my office.
The entrance hall astounds everyone who visits the house for the first time.
