Cucumber

Suddenly there's a glut of cucumbers, even more so than courgettes at the moment. At least these are smallish ones, so don't take too long to eat. I might have to try pickling some. This is about the third year I've tried to grow this (or any) variety and is definitely the best year so far. If previous crops are anything to go by, the fruit will arrive in fits and starts, and my plan that having three plants would help stagger the crop may not entirely work. Still, getting food you've grown yourself is always worth it. The tomatoes are ripening now too, and they really are something that is far better home-grown than bought.
