The Emperor

I've given up trying to find an Emperor dragonfly at rest that I could photograph and have decided to try an in-flight shot instead. I got lucky with my first attempt which I was quite pleased with given that I was holding a lively springer spaniel by the collar in one hand.  Sometimes I think I'd take better photographs without the spaniel but if I didn't have him then I probably wouldn't be out walking for four or five hours a day and wouldn't get to see all these things.
