Al-humdoolilah al-humdoolilah

It was supposed to rain today. It has been 'supposed to rain' for almost a week now but it still shows no sign of happening.

Our local morning radio show assures us (on a daily basis) that it will in fact rain tomorrow, however it has also been reporting 'another glorious day across the capital' since the summer (during which the temperature rises to 40 degrees celsius) so I will take that information with a large pinch of salt.

It seems the Omani meteorological department has yet to devise a method of accurately predicting weather patterns using their goat bells and palm tree leaves.

Sometimes, it's like the 20th century never happened.
