uprooted
This morning I said goodbye to my parents and to their house, and journeyed back home.
At Euston I had an hour between trains. I had a cup of tea at Friends' House and on the way back to the station, I noticed that all the trees in the little park outside had colourful knitted scarves tied around them. On closer inspection, I saw that some had small labels explaining that the trees were to be cut down to make way for the new HS2 terminus. There has been a lot of controversy over this £50billion scheme. Not only trees, but badgers, newts and people are to be moved to make way for it...
My journey today was trouble-free, and D and Jess were both pleased to see me at Lockerbie :-)
