Squirrel Temptations

That's Doris, our favorite Douglas Squirrel, gazing longingly at the post holding up the high suet cake feeder, a favorite dining place for flickers, woodpeckers, and occasional grosbeaks and chickadees.

Mind you, she couldn't have been all that hungry, given that just a few minutes earlier she was ensconced in the low suet cake feeder, "stuffing her face," as the saying goes. Doris exited before growing too rotund to fit through the feeder's openings, and finished her snack on the deck railing (see extras).

She's always a joy to watch!
