Sugar Cane Railway

Wow, what a bonus. I went across to the Botanic Gardens early this morning for my walk and it was like "peak hour" for the birds, no people though, woohoo. I was just about three quarters of a way around the circuit when I looked across at the area where they house the little steam train and to my great delight it was being fired up for the start of its day of taking tourists around the park.

This is actually one of the original cane trains that used to take the cut cane to the Bundaberg Sugar Refinery and has been lovingly restored by some of the fellows who used to work on the trains originally. The last time CCN and I went on the train was with her Mum and Dad. It brought back wonderful memories.
