Uno: a very popular after dinner game in our house. If you've never played it (and have young children) get a set of the cards. Dead easy to understand and very fair i.e. there's no real skill to playing it (which means everyone has a good chance of winning) but it is very fun. +1/3 and +2/3 have suitably elaborate victory dances for when they win.
