Gone Fishing

Day 3 of hosting Adrien.

Another wet, horrible one - mostly. The rain did stop mid afternoon.

In the morning we hit the Scottish Fisheries Museum in Anstruther - better than I expected and as you see the development of fishing into a science based industry, it's obvious why fish stocks get low. 

Fishing - inshore as opposed to deep sea - is still an important component of the local economy.

After lunch it was the Secret Bunker - a nuclear bomb shelter turned into a Cold War museum. I didn't go in as I've been before.

Finally, a home cooked dinner with the other local hosts and our 3 guests.

Tomorrow morning Adrien goes off to an outdoor adventure centre with the other 11 participants, and my life goes back to the normal routine.

The Blip is one of the fishery exhibits - they have the whole cabin and bridge from a 1970s trawler on display.
