Christ Church, Southwark
I wonder how many of you have walked past this very unlovely looking church and never thought to go inside and have a look.
Inside are a unique series of stained glass windows dedicated to industry. The high level ones show the industries in 1959 when the church was built; construction, lighterage, printing, engineering, power generation and baking. The low level ones depict the local industries and businesses on the church's 25th anniversary, including Sainsbury's and Lloyds- featured. This may be the only stained glass window of a shopping trolley
The church is now a listed building, not for the building but for the windows. More information here . A collage of all the windows I took photos of is in extras but this is by no means all the windows.
