Clover

Tuesday- I don't have to go to the CAB. Mr P is home, the sun is out so we went for circular walk wound Withyham ending at the Dorset Arms. 
Crossing this field, I noticed that there was only clover on the path. Bees on the clover required careful walking. But why is the  clover only growing on the path?
