Diary of an Edinburgher

Annemique collected Archie at the usual time. Luckily I awoke and got organised minutes before she arrived. I can sleep and sleep in the mornings. I think I could probably sleep all day if Archie had no appointments.

I went to the gym, not having been for quite a while, and the membership fee preyed on my mind. However, my favourite lowdown bike (there are two) was occupied, so I tried the big sitty-up one. I don't even attempt them because I just can't climb up on to them, but this morning I had to try. What an effort. I think the young lady next to me was a bit alarmed at my puffings and blowings. The instructor came and helped me lower the seat and get me settled, but I realised that the seat is much different from the low bike - it's very hard, very pointy and a lot smaller. I managed 15 minutes, then climbed gratefully on to the now free low bike. Much better.

JR did her executive housekeeping then went to the gym. We had a vague idea of going to see Dunkirk on the Silver Screen (free tea and biccies) but then I came to my senses - I do not want to watch a graphic account of people being blown to pieces.

I got good news. Ages ago, I got a bill from Onetel for £50.10. Long story, but I'd queried it, rung them, sent letters and they just kept sending me the bill. Anyway, I contacted the Ombudsman. I must have read that suggestion somewhere on their information, as it's not something I would think of doing. This took another month or so, but they've rung me today and sent an email with their decision. The outcome is that Onetel will waive the £50.10 (generous of them) and send an apology letter for not entering into dialogue despite my repeated attempts. Result!

Here's Archie in a variation of his leaning his head on JR's foot stance - sometimes he rests a paw there too.
