The Hedgerows ....
... are looking so colourful at the moment. The montbretia is out, dancing with the purpleloosestrife, thistles and yellow ragwort, all against a backdrop of fuchsia. Wild and windy today, I don't know how that little bee was clinging on.
I forgot to report back about my evening with Colm Tóibín last Wednesday. Oh boy, what an erudite, intelligent and confident man! Much cheerier than his photos belie but he just oozed knowledge and awareness, all packaged most charmingly with no arrogance. He read wonderfully form his latest book - House of Names -resoundingly, with sly humour and unexpected pathos. I felt a little sorry for the interviewer who had little to contribute but she nodded and smiled graciously. The book sounds interesting too, the story of the Trojan War and Orestia from Clytemenstra's point of view! Remember it?? Spoiler alert - it doesn't end well.
