Arted up

Blimey!! It's been seriously lashing all day! We've forgotten what this is like. Lovely to have a bit of wetness but enough is enough now! What was really weird is there was torrential rain here all morning - we left home at around 11am drove to the next village, about 8km away, and they had had nothing. They have now though.

We decided to go to Skibbereen for a bit of culture for the next festival is just gearing up - Skibbereen Arts Festival and there is a jam-packed programme. We went to see  Coming Home: Art & the Great Hunger, a stunning exhibition on loan from Quinnipiac University in Connecticut.  Well displayed in Uillin, it was a powerful combination of contemporary and modern work. There was also a pop-up gallery across the road which had a large, varied and excellent show of West Cork artists so we are now all arted up,

More window boxes and this one is a work of art in itself. I especially like the wonky window. You can see the whole building in the extra. And another display that stopped us in our tracks is there too.
