Fun on the Farm
23rd July 2017:
This was our final goodbye on the farm, where we collected all the farm employees and had a few words and a little party with soft drinks and yellow buns.
They all got a chance to explain their responsibilities to ourselves, our two volunteers from Dublin: Mairead who has just retired as a primary teacher and Aisling who has just graduated in Accountancy. and for the first time all except one spoke in English, which is great for their self esteem.
We thanked everyone for their hard work for the past three months and complemented them about how professional the place looked and actually is being run.
We brought clothes and stuff for everyone and you see Mary fitting a hat on Irene
Aisling and Mairead have had a huge impact everywhere they travelled, because of their caring nature and how they managed to get involved in everything we try to do.
These poor uneducated villagers don't care about how much you know, but want to know how much you care.
Mairead and certainly nailed this one, and everyone knew how much they cared and welcomed them warmly.
The balloons were a great hit here with the kids and the adults alike.
Not alone did they make swords but hats and gadgets of all shapes and sized.
The impact was such that this will be talked about for the next 50 years.
It was one of these special moments
