Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2017 Wednesday -- Morning Shore

Early mornings few people are on the beach and the sand waits for a footprint or a paw print and then the day begins. Soon sand chairs are digging deep into the grains and buckets with shovels and rakes scratch the surface.

The hermit crabs, the sea snails, and the star fish rest quietly in the rippling water or warming sun. As morning creeps toward noon the beach changes: the sun gets hotter, the tide gets higher, and the sand gets covered in blankets and beach balls.

Our morning walk on a fog-free shore was quite delightful. It was the first morning walk (I think) this summer.

In the afternoon we drove toward Morro Bay to put gasoline in our car, to visit the ATM to get a little cash, to walk through "Fabulous Finds" to continue our looking for a nightstand on Mr. Fun's side of the bed; then we drove a little further toward SLO to Cuesta College to walk through the Achievement House thrift store. We left there empty handed, which is good. Almost always better to lookey-lou, than to buy (unless of course you find something you've been looking a long time for).

Then we made a naughty stop at McDonalds in Morro Bay to get a soft-serve ice cream cone (illegal for our vegan diet -- oops!).

For our evening meal we enjoyed some of Stephanie's delicious lentil vegetable soup.

We elected not to take an evening stroll to the beach lookout; Mr. Fun just wasn't feeling like going out into the evening chill.
