Masterwort

Spotted these pretty, delicate flowers in the garden. I was keen to identify the plant before posting, and Rachael kindly dug through her books to try to find out what it was. At first we thought it might be a valerian of some sort, but now we're pretty sure it's masterwort (also known as astrantia).

Apparently it's a herb used medicinally for stomach problems, and is a highly effective carminative.... which means it "expels gas from the Stomach and Intestine"!
