Lancashire Bridge, Stockport
The bridge on the left of the photo was built around 1870 across the Mersey in Stockport. By 1937 in was buried below Warren Street and then under Merseyway Shopping Centre. It was uncovered 2 years ago and you can now see one side of the bridge and a little bit of the Mersey as it flows underneath the shopping centre.
It may not be very pretty, but everything is relative, and we are talking about Stockport ... ;-)
