River stones

The Canterbury Plains are varying depths of river stones. I remember a lecturer at university commenting that the seismic landscape beneath the plains wasn't understood. Well we understand it a lot better now.

No trips to a river were involved with this shot. The many empty sections and tracts of land in central Christchurch are turned into Wilson's Parking and this is what you park and walk on.

I'm struggling with my lingering bugs but managed a reasonably productive day at work. I shuffled out for a walk when I got home and wondered when I'll feel energetic and well again.

Today's gratitude: For my hot water bottle and electric blanket. Shortly I'll be with both.
