Navy's in.
Beyond the slightly over perked colour of the headstones is one of the Irish Navy's few boats.
I delivered a baby a few years ago here to an Irish Naval Captain and his wife. He told me that Ireland have 10 frigates (I think ?) and that we can only ever have 9 in the water at one time in order to remain a neutral country. We often see them in Schull harbour for the night. They are patrolling the coast line for mostly drug and other illegal trafficking. The lads come ashore on a Friday night for a bevvy or two, I believe, before roaring back to the boat in their very powerful RIB. It's all very boys, toys and noise.
We went out to the Parish Hall for 'Culture Night' for a play called 'I hear You ' and some live music. Unfortunately we'd seen both before, but it was grand to catch up with a friends over a pint after.
