Inside again

I started out with good intentions of getting up onto the moor to enjoy the honey smell of the heather, but got sidetracked. A friend of #3 daughter wanted some baby/child photos of her for a book she and other school friends are putting together for her 40th. That used up a few hours, by which time it was raining - yet again.

Daughter is home from New York - her last surprise was her husband had booked them into Virgin Upper Class for the return journey. She doesn't like the title but said she could live with it, to enjoy a complimentary facial before boarding. Needless to say Mr C did a fair bit of eye-rolling at the extravagance. We travel a lot, but always at the most basic level. Daughter used to till she met Luke - we knew the relationship was serious when she ditched the rucksack for a wheelie suitcase. (We have upgraded to wheels for the rucksacks).

This is an orchid a friend bought me 10 years ago - I'm hopeless with house plants so it must be the sort that thrives on benign neglect. A bit like my children possibly.
