Itsy Bitsy Spider
We had a lot of rain here over the last 12 hours or so and the garden is feeling much fresher after so many days of sun and high temperatures. Today is our day off, and a lazy day started with breakfast made at home with bacon, asparagus, mushrooms and poached eggs while I was busy baking a couple of loaves of bread. Spent some time reading an excellent historical fiction novel 'Beneath a Scarlet Sky' out loud to L while she knitted socks. Watched a film and we are booked for a meal out at a new restaurant for us 'Taste of Europe' which apparently boasts authentic Russian and Slovakian food. Looking forward to sampling something different. This little fella was busy mending his web when I caught him on camera - fascinating how much more detail there is in the photo than in real life - I presume the hairy legs help keep him stuck to the web! As far as I can ascertain this is an Orb Weaver spider and is most prevalent in late summer and early autumn - for the arachnologists amongst you.
