Rudy

A quick swim for the whole family this morning and then home just about in time for some visitors for mid morning coffee (and pastries from the Kilted Frog). My lovely husband's lovely aunt and uncle (owners of the gorgeous holiday house in Pitenweem that we stayed in back in July) were up visiting his mother who lives fairly nearby, so popped in to visit, bringing with them Granny Paton and their greyhound Rudy.

To be honest I am not much of a dog person but having had two large, black, well behaved and friendly dogs visit us within one week I am beginning to see their appeal. The boys have always loved Rudy and enjoy stroking him (and listening to his teeth chatter as a sign of happiness), and playing with him and trying to get him to run around the garden. He is usually reluctant since there is not enough space for him to get up his preferred speed, but he humours them in a nice way.

After lunch we went for a gorgeous autumnal bike ride at Haddo Country Park where the boys cycled and ran and pretended to be Steve Bagshaw searching for dangerous animals, climbed some trees and hid under the root systems of others and laughed and laughed together in such a wonderful way.

Back home for a chippie supper and a catch up of the Great British Bake Off on iplayer with the little one oohing and ahhing at all the chocolate cakes ("that one is my favourite, no that one, oh, no that one, that one, that one is my best").
