After the paintings
Well, it was on the calendar and it promised to be a lovely morning at least, so off we set for the North East and Jac’s Exhibition in Seaham. And what a joy it was to see. So much of her work, many pieces we have seen on Blip as ‘work in progress’, and it all looked gorgeous. It was especially great to be able see, and touch, the wonderful textured (encaustic) pieces that we have ‘watched’ her create over the last few months. They are truly fab.
There were a lot of people, coming and going and standing around looking. She was pleased that so many had turned out to support her. In fact it was very difficult to get a decent picture of Jac with some of her work, as she was always surrounded by people. I have put one in extras.
On our way back we stopped off at Nose’s Point, which is a nature reserve just outside Seaham. We had been once before, but had forgotten about it until Jac reminded us of it. We spent a delightful hour or so there, in the sunshine – Gordon walked down onto the beach, I wandered a bit and sat and watched the sea a bit and read my book a bit - bliss. The views were wonderful, as was the profusion of wild flowers and the peace and quiet.
It rained on the way home!!
