NOOOOOO!!!

Dear Diary,

The last round of thunderstorms has brought in a bit of relief from the hot, humid days which I was very grateful for but I wasn't ready for this!  The first red leaves on a little maple down the road seem to be a reminder for me to savor these sweet summer days for they will not last.

I was so focused on photographing the leaves that I did not see the clouds until I got home and pulled the image up on the computer screen.  I think this formation looks just like a fluffy white rabbit in the sky!  These sorts of billowing cumulus clouds form every afternoon as the heat of the day builds and they often bring cracking thunderstorms.

Seeing this rabbit reminds me of how, when I was teaching elementary school, I would sometimes take my students out to lay in the grass, our heads forming a circle.  We looked, the principal said, like spokes of a wheel.  I wanted them to observe the changing clouds and maybe see animals or other things in them.  Developing a good imagination is so important and thirty years later I am still finding wonderful things in the clouds, I hope they are too.
