Mono Monday 'old'

Day nine of our holiday and the weather has been beautiful again! I got up early and went for a little run and enjoyed some peace and quiet. I was hoping to find a quiet spot to do yoga and meditate but I chickened out of doing it in public so I did a little when I got back to our apartment!

My first photo for the Mono Monday challenge is of the buildings on the hill as I made my way down towards the port. Some of the buildings look really old and tired but there are also some beautiful new buildings and renovations happening!

We didn't walk far today as my husband wanted to rest his foot. We are hoping he is ok for tomorrow so we can go to the oceanographic museum! So we took a small stroll to Monte Carlo and I thought a photo of the Casino would be perfect for the challenge today. It was opened in 1863 after gambling was made legal in Monaco and it was this that made Monaco wealthy! It is a stunning building and always a huge attraction to tourists!

My third photo is of the Marie in Beausoleil that was built in the 1860's. When we lived here we were on the same street at this and met the Mayor who was impressed my husband could speak French. Apparently he had only met 2 English men that spoke French ever! (I don't speak much and really ought to put my mind to it!!!)

Old is a funny thing - my son says I'm old and I guess I am! I am however reading the book Sapiens which is about evolution of humans - a truly fascinating book and is about our ancient ancestors!
