The other Borrowdale

Today's U3A walk started at Hucks Bridge on the A6 and went up and along the Whinfell Ridge taking in Ashstead Fell, Mabbin Crag, Castle Fell and Whinfell Beacon. At the repeater station we dropped down and headed back along the lonely and lovely Borrowdale valley.

In the valley one of the farmers had rounded up all his sheep
for shearing or dipping or both and the pen was absolutely crammed.

The weather was kind today and we enjoyed plenty of warm sunshine.
