Base Camp
Base camp - an important concept when the family goes to the beach.
There were quite a few families down at Smitingen today, though it's such a big beach it looked fairly empty. This particular family had set up their camp around the twin benches - definitely a prime site.
We bumped into our god-daughter unexpectedly (seen here near the sea, wearing black) and she assured us the sea was "lovely and warm" but we were here to walk rather than swim.
We walked around klubbsjön (sjön = the lake) and saw a minor drama involving ambulance people, the fire brigade, and a lad with a dislocated shoulder sitting on an island and unable to get back. It ended well and I bet the firemen were very happy to use their floating stretcher on this lovely sunny day, and in the warm water of the lake. That equipment is more normally used to get acoss weak ice! HD wrote more about the incident and added an extra photo.
We finished the trip off with dinner at the restaurant Damascus and I arrived back home very tired. I thought it was just me but both Lis and Jan also mentioned the same thing - I blame the fresh air! Goodnight world!
