As promised...

This is the other Longhorn beetle I mentioned yesterday,  Arhopalus rusticus ,which was attracted to my moth trap.
Arhopalus rusticus is at ~25mm in length quite a large species of Longhorn beetle, and unlike some of the other species it is rather plain being uniformly mahogany in colour. The larvae live in both fallen and standing conifers and take up to 2 years to develop into the adult. The beetle is largely nocturnal, and is strongly attracted to light - hence finding it in my moth trap!
Primarily a Scottish species, it has extended it's range in recent years due to the widespread planting of conifer plantations.
