11 O'Clock Walkies
After our visit to the Summer House earlier this week, we are back in the city and decided to have a chillax day today. We did go out for a short errand but otherwise we've been at home, reading, watching a silly but fun dog movie (see Alice's blip) catching up on 'Anne With An E' on Netflix, and enjoying a delicious Thai meal for dinner.
Alice gets an '11 O'Clock Walkie' every day, or something close to that time. We decided it would be good if I would take her today, since we are getting her used to the fact that it will be me and her alone all day on Saturday while Elisabet goes to Stockholm for a family event. I've already been in charge of a couple of the short walkies but this one is almost always a longer walk.
Alice wasn't thrilled that her mum was not coming and barked for the first part and had to be plied with treats to encourage her to keep going. We did the 'Basic Walkie' which is a big loop around the immediate neighbourhood. I decided to try and make it fun and take some pictures at a few points along the route. I sent these back to Elisabet as we walked so she would know we were doing OK! As well as showing off her rock climbing skills, Alice 'showed me' the football club, the old 'Eternity Tree' (one of the oldest oak trees with a preservation order), the outdoor classroom and the cannons outside the old Military Museum. Although I could tell she was a little eager to head home, she was also happy to pose in front of all these favourite spots on her 'Basic Walkie'. I would say the whole thing was a success!
Poor Alice - her mum decided tonight was B.A.T.H. night. What did she do to deserve that???
