In The Words Of Wallace...........

"A Grand Day Out"
SWMBO and I made our annual pilgrimage to Pittenweem for the Art Festival.
The weather was grim when we left the house but was good by the time we arrived and glorious shortly after that.
As always there was some stunning stuff, some 'OMG - Why?' stuff, some over-priced stuff (well, a lot of over-priced stuff) and some bargains.
There was the usual collection of weird bikes dotted around the town and a load of metal Highland cows (our friend wont be happy that we thought of her when we saw this one). We spent a while talking to the sculptor (not on the phone) of a couple of them. You may recognise the green one - it has become quite famous. Yours for a mere 7 grand.

The village itself always throws up some nice wee detail pictures -- like the wee fern on a wall and the false window. In the wonderful warmth of the sun, some of the cottage entrances even have a Mediterranean look to them.
I even managed to find a bank of wildflowers - complete with flying bee!

But of course - We spent time with our friends James & Caroline and the nosey crowd in their house.
They have had a very good festival this year apparently. James was decrying the fact he was going to have to spend so much time in the workshop to replenish the stock of jewelery and objet d'art. He also has 4 cranial implants to make as soon as the Festival is over. He does these to 'give back to society' and makes no money on them (unlike most makers who charge a fortune).
I was asked to take some pictures of a selection of his stuff for possible inclusion to a specialist magazine in America. Some of them are here .....
His dragonfly -- which is about 8" long and a bit heavy to sit on the flowers has Niobium wings and silver body.
The Bee Bowl is simply stunning  - even the underside. When I win the lottery this will be mine!
In the meantime .... The Labyrinth joins my collection.
The original of this pendant was desgned by No1 son and is the centerpiece on Bags' triara that she wore on her wedding day.
The solid silver giraffe is wonderful and somewhat heavy.
This gorilla is on a ring and is about 1" high. I did take pictures that shows it as a ring but James and I both loved the way this turned out

The blip .......... well that was lunch that Caroline made for SWMBO and I.
A lobster each (straight off the boat), local cheese and oatcakes washed down with a glass of a lovely dry wite wine.
Caroline .......... You are an angel!
