Hustle and bustle at (I think) Preston
A long but very enjoyable journey today from Wellington (Salop) to Edinburgh via Wolverhampton up the West Coast Main Line. The train was extremely busy but our choice of seats, sitting opposite each other, meant we had a comfortable journey through excellent scenery especially as we travelled further north.
At each station many people got off and were scurrying off to their next train or final destination while others crowded around the doors with luggage and families all anxious to get aboard, deal with their luggage and find seats. I didn't consciously prepare this shot, but the window seat gave the opportunity to watch traffic on the platform. Although light was low holding the lens against the window which meant the background windows were in focus but people were blurred with movement.
All to quickly the journey was over, none to soon for Susan as her hip pain is getting worse and more debilitating, if there's no improvement in the next 24 hours we'll have pay a visit to a doctors in Edinburgh.
Sunny when we arrived, the inevitable showers passed through and the forecast particularly for Monday is not too hopeful. We spent the evening watching the athletics, disappointment for Sir Mo and Mr Bolt but an ecstatic result for the 4 x 100 metre relay team
